A registered sex offender was arrested in Richfield on Dec. 20, accused of confronting a girl after cheerleading practice, asking to buy her underwear. Christopher Todd Peck, age 42 of Richfield, was booked into the Sevier County Jail for investigation of dealing in harmful materials to a minor, attempting to engage in sexual activity for a fee, disorderly conduct and trespassing.

According to a police affidavit, on Dec. 15, the girl had just gotten into her vehicle outside of Richfield High School when Peck asked her to roll down her window. From his truck he asked her if she would give him her underwear in exchange for $30. The girl drove away and the police were contacted.

Police used a photo of Peck from another incident and surveillance video of his truck to identify him. Peck is a suspect in another incident at the Sevier Valley Center on Nov. 22 and is currently on parole for sexual related offenses. He was convicted of sex abuse of a child in 2009 and attempted forcible sexual abuse in 2002.
