Sevier School District dismissal information

After the announcement from Gov. Gary Herbert on Mar. 13 Sevier School District released a statement with information about the schools temporary soft closure.

In the statement it states “students will be dismissed from school buildings, but facilities will be kept open. Teachers and staff will continue to work their regular hours serving students through an at-home learning platform. Based on current information and guidelines, Spring Break will remain as scheduled.”

It also states that this dismissal procedure effects all school functions including sporing practices/games, extracurricular clubs etc. Students shouldn’t go to the school except for instances when teachers ask them to provide interventions or support at the school.

Teachers in the district should be in touch with there students by Monday Mar. 16 with “academic and curricular expectations.” Schools will be providing students with alternative forms of on-going instruction.

It was also stated that “Sevier School District understands the unique challenge this may pose to some families, however we feel strongly that we are well prepared to provide a blended educational environment conductive to students learning.”

In the statement it was also said that the school district will continue to provide food services to the students.
