On Jan. 24, the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office held their year end awards. Jim Brown was named the corrections deputy of the year. The civilian employee of the year went to Melissa Fox, who is a nurse. Sgt. Aaron Richards and Victor Murdock tied for most DUI arrests with eight each. Kody Wasden won out on case numbers with 460 and most traffic stops went to Woody Woodside with 1,154. Life Saving awards, Medals of Merit and Challenge Coins were also given out to numerous individuals for responses to instances throughout the year as well as completed trainings.
