Early during the morning of May 18, Sevier County deputies pulled over an individual who they recognized and knew did not have a valid drivers license. A verification confirmed that Josh Salas, age 37 from Monroe, was driving on a suspended license and that he was required to have an interlock device installed in any vehicle he is driving, which he did not, mandating the vehicle be impounded.
During the inventory of the vehicle several illegal drugs were discovered including over 110 grams of Methamphetamine, 13 grams of Heroin and multiple zip lock bags filled various pills including fentanyl, schedule 2, schedule 4 and schedule 11 drugs.
Salas was booked into the Sevier County jail on multiple charges including DUI, driving on a suspended license, possession with intent to distribute and more. Two men were in the vehicle with Salas at the time of his arrest. Caleb Ortega, age 35 from Monroe, and Keri Robinson, age 33 from Richfield, were taken into custody to determine their involvement and their charges are pending review with the Sevier County Attorney’s Office.
