(Salt Lake City, UT) — A bill that would allow Salt Lake City to create a downtown sports and entertainment zone has won the approval of the Utah Senate. Proponents say the bill has the potential to keep the Utah Jazz playing downtown. With a vote of 21 to seven late Tuesday, this approval makes the state more attractive to those who might want to bring a NHL team to Utah. All seven “no” votes were from Republican lawmakers.
