(Washington, DC) — Republican Senator Mitt Romney is urging the Biden Administration to do everything they can to fasttrack the applications to join NATO from Finland and Sweden. Romney and other senators signed a letter, saying the move to expand NATO’s reach “will send a clear message” to Russian President Vladamin Putin and authoritarian leaders that western democracies will defend the sovereignty of other nations. President Biden met with Swedish and Finnish leaders last week, and said he wanted both nations to be accepted into NATO.
