Sen. Romney In Support Of Updated Background Checks, Red Flag Laws

(Washington, DC) — Republican Senator Mitt Romney believes there are gun reforms he can get behind following the mass shooting at a Texas elementary school earlier this week. Speaking with reporters, Romney said he supports aspects of the failed Toomey-Manchin bill proposed in 2013 in response to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Ideas from that bill include updated background checks at the federal level, as well as red flag laws that allow courts to remove a person’s firearms if they present a danger to others or themselves.
