Sen. Romney decries effort to overturn presidential election

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah Sen. Mitt Romney is among a group of U.S. lawmakers who have objected to an effort by fellow lawmakers to overturn the presidential election results. The Salt Lake Tribune reports a bipartisan group of 10 senators issued a statement Sunday calling for an end to the plan by some Republicans to object to the results and upend the election. Members of Congress are scheduled Wednesday to formally count the votes cast by the Electoral College. Biden received 306 electoral votes, while President Donald Trump received 232. The winning candidate must receive at least 270 votes.
