Logan City Police held a news conference at 11 a.m. Monday morning with regard to their search for 5-year old Elizabeth “Lizzy” Shelley who disappeared from her home Saturday morning. They stated multiple agencies are involved in the search, including the FBI and search and rescue groups. Evidence has been collected linking Lizzy and her uncle, 21-year old Alex Whipple, together. Whipple is the prime suspect at this point and has been uncooperative with authorities. He is currently being held on a probation violation. The police are working several leads and have asked local residents to report anything out of the ordinary that they may find. Jill Parker, a victims advocate from the Cache County Attorney’s Office, read a statement from Lizzy’s family asking for privacy and respect as the search for their daughter continues.
