On Friday afternoon about 5:00 pm, a Sanpete County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to make a traffic stop between Ephraim and Manti on highway 89. The driver fled southbound at a high rate of speed and the deputy pursued the vehicle. Tire spikes were deployed south of Manti, deflating two of suspects tires. The driver continued southbound until the vehicle was disabled at about 300 West and 300 North in Gunnison. The driver was taken into custody without further incident. There will be more information when available.
