(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Salt Lake County Democratic Party is pushing back on criticism of its probe of sexual harassment allegations against state Senator Gene Davis. Davis’ lawyer called the process unfair earlier this week after his client was suspended from party activities for two years and asked to resign. A spokesman for the party issued a statement yesterday saying Davis had several chances to appeal the decision and didn’t do so. The statement also criticized Davis for attention-seeking and trying to act like he was the victim. A former staff member prompted the probe after saying she was sexually harassed several times while working for Davis.
