SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Salt Lake City has set another heat record and tied its hottest temperature ever recorded. The National Weather Service says the airport in Utah’s capital hit 107 degrees Tuesday, which has only happened twice before in the past 147 years. The previous record in June was 105 degrees, and the city had only hit that temperature twice before in that month. An excessive heat warning was in place for much of the state through at least Tuesday evening. Salt Lake City also broke a daily heat record Monday, hitting 103 degrees. The heat wave comes as Utah is experiencing its worst drought in decades.
