(Salt Lake City, UT) — Salt Lake City is working with state and federal officials on the creation of a possible passenger rail connection to Idaho. Leaders in Salt Lake City and Boise have submitted a proposal to the Federal Railroad Administration that would reopen an old passenger rail line between the two states. A document detailing costs associated with the proposal is expected next month. Salt Lake City officials say it could be years before the proposal results in rail service between the two states.
