In an effort to capitalize on the recent good weather, the Fishlake National Forest – Richfield Ranger District plans to continue prescribed burning on the Salina Creek Project.Â
Crews will focus on finishing Unit One on the east side of Beaver Creek. As the weather allows, the crews will work their way into Unit Five. The burn is projected to cover between 200-500 acres.
The Salina Creek Project is an effort to reduce the threat of wildfire and restore the ecosystem through a system of proscribed burns. The project area is found near  Salina Creek, Skutumpah Reservoir, Duncan Mountain and Convulsion Canyon. It covers 2000 acres and approximately 1200 acres have been treated in the last 3 years.
