ROY, Utah (AP) — One man died overnight and another is in custody after Roy, Utah, police say they became involved in a shootout that also injured a police dog. The incident began about 2 a.m. Saturday. That’s according to a Roy City Police Department news release. A Roy City police officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and the car drove off. The officers found the vehicle in a field in Clinton. As they approached, one of the suspects opened fire at the officers, police said. They shot back and one suspect was killed. The other was arrested.
