Romney: U.S. Should Look To Utah For Measures To Fight Wildfires

(Washington, DC) — Senator Mitt Romney says the federal government should look to Utah if they want to effectively fight wildfires in the future. The Utah Republican spoke during a Senate hearing on Wednesday, saying the state’s wildfire warning system is working to help reduce the danger. Romney says the threat of wildfires due to climate change and drought is not going to go away and state and federal agencies will have to work together to stop it. He’d like to see the government make it easier to do controlled burns and other mitigation to help prevent future wildfires.
