(Cedar City, UT) — A rockslide shut down Cedar Canyon just about all day yesterday. Boulders rolled down onto State Route 14 near milepost 8 just after 6 a.m. The Utah Department of Transportation initially said crews were expected to have the highway open by 8:30 a.m. but just before 8, the Highway Patrol posted on social media that the time the road would be cleared was uncertain. UDOT crews had to use explosives to remove the larger boulders. They got everything cleared away late yesterday afternoon and the highway reopened around 4:30 p.m.
