Richfield Home Catches Fire, Homeowner Credits Stranger for Quick Response

A Richfield home was the scene of a fire May 1. A concerned citizen stopped and told the owners of the home at 112 E 300 N that they saw smoke leaking from the roof of the home. The Richfield City Police and Fire Departments were called to scene at 11:55 a.m. The police department blocked off a portion of 100 East to allow the fire crews to complete their work. According to Richfield City Police Chief Trent Lloyd, investigators determined that the small fire began as a chimney fire which started in the attic. The home owners later took to Facebook to thank the unknown individual who saved their home from suffering further damage by warning them of the fire.
