Richfield City can expect more water-line-fixes along Main Street

Richfield City is working to replace half-a-century-old water lines throughout the city. According to City Administrator, Matt Creamer, the water pipes throughout Richfield are reaching the end of their usefulness.

“It’s part of a larger problem we’ve had this summer,” Creamer said. “We have just had a tone of water leaks.”

A couple of years ago, budget allocations were put aside for water-line replacement.

Before the end of next month, Creamer says, a four block area near 100 East on Main Street will have new pipes put in place. And systematic changes in other parts of Richfield will take place continuously in order to avoid any serious leaks from the old cast iron pipes.
