In a Facebook post posted on Sept. 9, a Sevier county resident shared their concern about their experience with a suspicious individual at Walmart in Richfield and in Anabella on Sept 8.
In this post the individual shared that they felt that they and their child were being stalked by five to seven individuals while shopping at Walmart in Richfield. This individual decided to leave the store and stated that they were followed by one of the men from inside the store.
The individual shared in the post that they watched the man enter a red SUV, and while driving on the Annabella road they noticed they were being followed by a red SUV. Not feeling comfortable to go home the individual parked at the post office in Annabella when they noted that the red SUV parked in a parking lot across the street.
Police were contacted and the individual from the post went to another individuals house and returned home later.
The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office made a post to their Facebook page later that same day, Sept. 9, addressing the situation. In the post they stated that they have talked with the individual that was in the SUV parked in the Annabella parking lot and that after reviewing the footage from Walmart they can confirm that he is not the individual from Walmart. This individual had stopped in the parking lot to eat and was not intentionally following the reporting party. He is from northern Utah, and was visiting family that lives in Annabella.
According to reports, the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office is still looking into the security footage from Walmart for any suspicious activity. They stated in their post that they were glad this individual called them when they felt unsafe.
The sheriff’s office ended their post by stating “always be aware of your surroundings and if you are made nervous stay in a public place and call dispatch. Thank you to everyone who has expressed concern and for all the tips that have come in. Keep an eye on our kids and always report immediately if you see something suspicious.”
