(Salt Lake City, UT) — Protesters in Salt Lake City are criticizing the verdict in the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse. Several dozen protesters gathered in Washington Square Park yesterday to hear speeches by activists who said the verdict showed the justice system is biased against those who aren’t white. Organizers also feared the verdict would empower armed vigilantes by allowing them to shoot protesters and then claim self-defense. Rittenhouse was acquitted of shooting and killing two people during protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin last year.
