Poll: Most Utahns Do Not Know Any Homeless People

(Salt Lake City, UT) — A large majority of Utahns apparently do not know anyone suffering from homelessness. A new “Salt Lake Tribune”-Hinckley Institute of Politics poll shows nearly 80-percent of those asked do not know anyone who has been homeless within the last two years. The poll of 600 registered voters also shows that wealthier Utahns are less likely to know a homeless person than those making less than 25-thousand-dollars a year.
