(Price, UT) — State wildlife officials want to see a man who poached a deer more than a week before the season began charged.

Investigators say they were alerted to the poaching by someone
watching the deer near Price who then heard a gunshot.

Officials located both the man who shot the buck and the hunter a short time later.

Charges have not been filed yet but the hunter, who was not publicly identified, could pay eight-thousand dollars in restitution.
