(Escalante, UT)  —  A man is dead after losing control of his motorcycle and crashing in Escalante.

Investigators with the Highway Patrol don’t know why the 41-year-old lost control on Center Street on Saturday but say he didn’t have a helmet on.

The man reportedly died while emergency crews were waiting for a helicopter to arrive to take him to the hospital.  No one else was injured.
