New Miss Sevier Royalty Named

The annual Miss Sevier County Scholarship pageant was held Saturday, May 20th at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield. Ten contestants from throughout the County competed in personal interview, casual wear, talent, onstage interview, and evening wear competitions.

The night concluded with the crowning of a new Miss Sevier County royalty. Ashlyn Hessey of Monroe, daughter of Robin Hessey and Aaron Hessey was named the 2017-2018 queen and will receive a $3,000 scholarship following her reign. Kodi Jo McKinlay of Aurora, daughter of Chris and Jodi McKinlay was named as the first attendant and will receive a $1,500 scholarship. Erin Burrows of Richfield, daughter of Bryan and Laurie Burrows was named as second attendant and will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Hessey’s platform, entitled “Light the World,” is designed to help youth realize the importance of being true to one’s self.
