LOGAN, Utah (AP) — A northern Utah event straight out of the Old West is attracting more people with its mountain-man appeal. The Herald Journal reports about 50 people gathered to compete in a state-organized event featuring muzzleloader guns last weekend. Many wore traditional mountain-man gear to the area surrounded by snow-capped mountains and populated by hundreds of elk. Shooters raced along a snowy trail to five separate shooting stations where they fired black-powder guns at metal silhouette targets. Prizes were given for the best score out of 10.
