(Salt Lake City, UT) – The Mormon Church feels medical marijuana should not become legal without further research and FDA approval. The Church issued a statement yesterday in response to efforts by medical marijuana supporters to put the issue on the statewide ballot next year. The statement said the difficulties of legalizing a drug that is still considered illegal at the federal level “cannot be overstated.” Supporters of the ballot question are hoping the Church will not actively oppose the initiative.Â
