(Salt Lake City, UT) — More candidates are entering a special election for the Utah congressional seat currently held by Republican Chris Stewart. At least eleven candidates have filed paperwork so far, with several more expected to do so before tomorrow’s five o’clock deadline. The legislature will also meet for a special session tomorrow to confirm the timeline for the election and allocate funding. Under the current plan, primaries would be held on September 5th, ten days before Stewart officially steps down. The special election would be held along with local elections on November 21st.
