On July 2, a new wildfire started burning in Millard county. The Monk Springs fire is believed to have been started by a lightning strike and is burning about six miles Southeast of Kanosh.

As of July 5, the fire has burned 170 acres and is 70 percent contained. There is currently no evacuation orders in place and there is only one road closure, the Upper Corn Creek Road.
