(Salt Lake City, UT) — The National Weather Service is feeling optimistic about the ongoing drought in Utah. The agency’s latest seasonal drought outlook released on Saturday shows most of the state in the category of still in drought but improving. The report indicates that portions of the eastern and southwest parts of the state could be removed from drought status soon. The optimistic forecast was spurred by the high level of snow and rain that’s fallen so far this winter, a trend that is expected to continue this month.
