(Salt Lake City, UT) — A member of the Democratic National Committee will challenge Republican Congressman Burgess Owens for the Fourth District congressional seat. Darlene McDonald announced her campaign Saturday. McDonald is a community activist and published author who works in the tech industry. She says she’s running for Congress because political leaders are engaging in distractions while ignoring real issues like crumbling infrastructure and the national debt. Owens is running for re-election after narrowly defeating former Democratic Congressman Ben McAdams in 2020.
