SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A man was shot and killed by a Salt Lake City police officer who responded to a report of a group being threatened by two people with a gun. Salt Lake Police Sgt. Keith Horrocks says officers were dispatched at about 2 a.m. Saturday. When they arrived, a suspect ran away. Officers chased the man, a confrontation occurred and an officer fired his gun. Details about the confrontation were not released. Horrocks said he did not know how many officers were involved or whether the suspect had a weapon. The man’s name has not been released. No officers were injured.
