(LaVerkin, UT)  –  A man will be sentenced in December for bilking over a dozen people out of nearly three million dollars in a securities fraud case.  The Spectrum reports Douglas Beecher pleaded guilty to securities fraud and racketeering charges earlier this week.  Investigators say the LaVerkin man took money over a nearly six year period from victims, claiming he would make safe investments but he was actually paying off other investors.  Officials say Beecher has repaid some of the money owed to the victims but the outstanding balance remains around one-million dollars.
