(Sandy, UT) — A man is dead following an officer-involved shooting in Sandy. Officers went to a home in the community early yesterday after a report about someone suffering a mental health crisis. The man had already left the area but was found a short time later. Officers said they were approached in a threatening manner and that one officer fired his gun at the man, killing him. The officer has been placed on leave and the Salt Lake County Critical Incident Investigation team will look into the shooting.
