Man Arrested in Sevier County After Kidnapping and Running from Police

A man has been arrested in Sevier County after kidnapping an individual and running from police. On Sept. 30, Sevier County Deputies were dispatched to a family fight in Redmond. Trenton Seely had taken Linda Richens away in his truck after threatening to stab her.

Richens was able to contact her parents and tell them she was on Willow Creek Road. When troopers located Seely’s vehicle he fled on foot, then returned to the truck and drove away at a high rate of speed. Officers called off the chase due to safety reasons.

Richens parents then contacted police, telling that she had called and she was able to get away from Seely and shared the location of his vehicle. When officers arrived at the location it was discovered that Seely had abandoned his vehicle, but a officer and an K9 were able to locate him.

Seely was arrested on seven counts including assault, kidnapping, driving under the influence and more.
