Man arrested in reported abduction of student near Salt Lake

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) — Police say a man has been arrested after a high school student reportedly escaped an abduction in suburban Salt Lake City on Monday. Unified Police Sgt. Melody Gray told The Salt Lake Tribune the abduction occurred at 2:30 p.m. in West Valley City and was reported to police at 6:30 p.m., after the girl escaped. The girl said she was forced into a vehicle as she walked home from Hunter High School. Granite School District says the student was abducted near her home and was found by her friends close to her school after she escaped.
