(Salt Lake City, UT) — Liquor markup in Utah is the highest in country, and Utahns could be paying even more in the future. The Alcohol Research Group says Utah customers pay an extra 88 percent on a combination of markup and freight on a bottle of wine. “The Salt Lake Tribune” reports the bill to get rid of the “Zion Curtain” requirement calls for another markup on booze of one to two percent. Supporters say the money would fund alcohol enforcement and prevention programs.
