(Salt Lake City, UT) — State lawmakers are making it clear that government workers cannot be punished by their employers just because they have medical cannabis cards. The House passed Senate Bill 46 yesterday on 68-to-4 vote. The bill came after several local governments tried to act against first responders who legally obtained medical cannabis cards. Lawmakers say medical cannabis should be treated like any other prescription drug. The bill now goes to the governor for approval.
