Legislations Could Create Harsher Punishments For Reckless Driving, Speeding

(Salt Lake City, UT) – Drivers could face tougher penalties if they are caught driving recklessly. SB 53 from Democratic State Senator Jani Iwamoto would increase the fines for people caught driving above one-hundred miles per hour, and elevates speeding over 105 miles per hour to the crime of reckless driving. The proposal also adds more punishments for anyone caught street racing.
