(Washington, DC) — Utah Senator Mike Lee is using an odd comparison to underline his point that the U.S. took too long to shoot down a Chinese spy balloon. The Republican senator tweeted about the balloon after a classified hearing with defense experts. Lee compared the balloon to O.J. Simpson’s Ford Bronco and the slow-speed chase that happened in 1994 following the death of Nicole Brown and Ronald Goldman. Lee pointed out that the Bronco was white, moved slowly and was given a wide berth by law enforcement before being stopped. He also pointed out that, unlike the spy balloon, the Bronco did not pose a threat to national security.
