(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah lawmakers are presenting their budget proposal with a week left in the legislative session. The nearly 28-billion dollar spending plan was unveiled Friday at the State Capitol. Inside the proposal is nearly one-billion dollars for public education, including an annual compensation increase for teachers. There’s also over 400-million for water conservation and roughly the same amount for tax cuts.
