(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah lawmakers may take additional steps to ensure medical cannabis is recognized as a legally controlled substance. During a legislative committee hearing yesterday, cannabis advocacy groups said a small group of local governments are not allowing their workers to use cannabis, even after they go through all the proper channels to get a prescription. Legislation on the table would only apply to public employers who prevent workers from using cannabis medically while they are off the job.
