(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah lawmakers are considering a tax cut as they prepare for the 2022 general session. Senate Majority Leader Evan Vickers is pushing a bill that would lower the income tax rate for individuals and corporations from the current four-point-nine-five-percent to four-point-nine-percent. That would amount to 79-million dollars total. This comes as Governor Spencer Cox asked the Legislature to make 160-million dollars in cuts to help Utahns account for rising food costs.
