Lawmaker Proposes Raising Age Limit To Buy Guns In Utah

(Salt Lake City, UT) — A Utah lawmaker is proposing a change to state gun laws following a deadly mass shooting in Texas. State Senator Derek Kitchen wants to raise the minimum age for buying a gun from 18 to 21-years-old. Kitchen says anyone who isn’t old enough to buy alcohol should also be barred from buying guns. The Democrat from Salt Lake City says lawmakers need to act now to keep communities safe from gun violence.
