Kanab Elementary School is moving to remote learning after the school’s main sewer line backed up. According to the district office, the sewer backed up on Dec. 5 and the building is untenable for students until the issue is resolved. Parents of students were issued Chromebooks with Zoom installed and students started attending classes through Zoom Dec. 7.
The school and city’s maintenance staff have identified the problem and are actively addressing the issue and the district is optimistic about the students being able to return to school soon. A new elementary school is currently under construction and will be up and running in a matter of months in the Ranchos area of Kanab.
