In a Facebook post on Mar. 26 the Juab County Sheriff’s Office shared their support of shutting down the Little Sahara Recreation Area in Juab County.
In the press release it was stated that “due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we are in support of the Bureau of Land Management’s temporary closure of the Little Sahara Recreation Area.”
The closure comes after a collaboration between the BLM and the Central Utah Public Health Department. The closure is effective immediately and will remain in place until further notice.
It was stated that the “decision was made in part due to large crowds gathering at specific locations within LSRA creating a high risk of exposure.”
Also in the post, visitors of other parts of Juab County are encouraged to follow the Utah Health Department and CDC guidelines surrounding COVID-19.
