(Juab County, UT) — An inmate looking for a ride after being released from the Juab County Jail decided to help himself by taking a deputy’s vehicle. Investigators say the deputy had left his truck running in the jail parking lot early yesterday, but didn’t notice that the driver’s door didn’t lock when he used his key fob. The inmate saw the running truck, hopped in and drove off after being released on bond. The Utah Highway Patrol stopped the truck using spike stips on northbound Interstate 15 near Nephi. The suspect is now back in jail and facing new charges.
