(Salt Lake County, UT) — The Utah Inland Port Authority voted to initiate condemnation proceedings on private land owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Port Authority officials look to purchase the land near 56th West and I-80 to improve commercial rail flow in the area. The condemnation action is needed to expedite the sale of the space. The land is valued at three-and-a-half-million dollars and is nearly 45 acres.
