Initiative to End Vote-By-Mail Falling Short, Lawsuit In the Works

(Salt Lake City, UT) – The group trying to end Utah’s use of vote-by-mail is considering a lawsuit against the state. Secure The Vote is short of the 138-thousand signatures they need by February 15th for the proposed ballot initiative. Members of the group could file a lawsuit, accusing state officials of delaying the signature-gathering process. The proposal would replace the vote-by-mail system in Utah with a same-day, in-person voting, and stop nearly all absentee ballots.
