(Salt Lake City, UT) — The body of Santaquin Police Sgt. Bill Hooser was accompanied by an organized vehicle escort back to his home city from the state medical examiner’s office in Taylorsville on Monday. Officers from Lone Peak, Spanish Fork, Payson, Provo, the sheriff’s office and two universities were on hand in support. On Sunday, a random procession of hundreds of vehicles followed as the late officer was taken from the scene of the intentional hit and run crime to Taylorsville. A police vehicle is now parked near the his department for people to leave flowers, flags and cards.
